Zhao Bandi was born in 1966 and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China. A prolific artist, he has worked in multiple mediums ranging from painting to fashion. Both as a delve into the fashion world as well as a critique of culture today, his foray into fashion began with his Panda Couture show, which featured different panda characters from today’s society, at Shanghai Fashion Week in 2007. His work has been shown across the globe in museums and galleries including the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, the Museum of Contemporary Art etc in Sydney, Australia, and the Shanghai Art Museum in Shanghai.
